Emmeline Pankhurst, Mahatma Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, Bobby Sands. And now two more names can be added to the pantheon of selfless heroes. Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. And maybe people will forget how they were found guilty. Not once, but twice.

Kamiński and Wąsik don’t see it that way. They are martyrs. A few good men, simply trying to live their best lives by stopping evil. Or as that well known saint in human form Beata Szydlo tweeted, “Political prisoners.”
Poor Beatko. She knows what it is like to suffer under the jackboot of rules and laws and other humans who just won’t do as they are told. Beata, as you may remember, had a habit of crashing her Audi convoy. One of the risks of driving at two-hundred km an hour on the roads of Oswiecim. For the best part of six years, Beata tried to prosecute the driver of the Fiat 500 who collided into her limousine. Simple little Beatko had nothing at her disposal. Apart from the full might of the government. Limitless financial resources. And a court system packed with appointees loyal to her. And still she struggled against the tyranny of not getting what she wanted. And God knows she tried very hard to get what she wanted. To the point where two of her security detail perjured themselves in court. What matter. Laws and rules and general decency, these are for the little people. We shouldn’t expect the standards of high office to apply to her.
